Suns' Green exacerbates hamstring injury, departs

Phoenix Suns guard Jalen Green seemed to worsen a right hamstring issue during the opening quarter of Saturday’s match against the LA Clippers and required assistance to leave the court.

Green sustained the injury on a drive with a little over 40 seconds remaining in the first quarter. He stopped abruptly and was left favoring his leg for the rest of the play. He was subsequently declared out.

Green has been managing a right hamstring injury since before the start of the season, initially injuring it during training camp and then exacerbating it while the team was in China during the preseason. He sat out the Suns’ first eight games before making his appearance for Phoenix in Thursday’s victory over the Clippers.

The Suns obtained Green from the Rockets in a major trade that saw Kevin Durant move to Houston.

Green recorded two points in seven minutes before leaving the game.
