Rising heavyweight talent Moses Itauma has officially confirmed his next bout, and although he initially aimed for a return prior to year’s end, he will actually be stepping back into the ring at the start of 2026, facing Jermaine Franklin on January 24 at Manchester’s Co-Op Live arena, as reported by ESPN.
The 20-year-old Itauma (13-0, 11 KOs) recently achieved a first round knockout against Dillian Whyte, which significantly increased his market value as many now regard him as the upcoming significant threat in the heavyweight category. In contrast, Franklin (24-2, 15 KOs) has secured three consecutive victories against lesser competition following a comprehensive unanimous decision loss to Anthony Joshua in 2023.
“This event will also commemorate my 45th anniversary in the professional realm, and I think this lineup truly honors the occasion. I am extremely pleased to have our heavyweight star Moses headlining the event in another solid test of his undeniable abilities against a very tough American opponent in Jermaine Franklin,” stated promoter Frank Warren.
Additionally, the January 24 card will include a light heavyweight clash between Willy Hutchinson (19-2, 14 KOs) and Ezra Taylor (13-0, 9 KOs).
