Prep roundup: Hartselle boys roll over Mortimer Jordan

Nov. 22—KIMBERLY — Reed Springer poured in 19 points as Hartselle cruised to a 62-30 win over Mortimer Jordan on Friday.

Gray Bennich added 17 and Asa Priola scored 11. The win pushes Hartselle to 3-2 on the season.

Hartselle will be back in action at Hanceville on Monday.

Austin girls 45, Mae Jemison 40: Austin picked up a win in its season opener against the Jaguars on Friday. Destiny Acklin led the way with 16 points, followed by Keelie Fletcher who had 13 points.

Decatur girls 59, Huntsville 40: Jadience Smith finished with a double-double Friday night, grabbing 12 rebounds and scoring 11 points.

Jenny Mitchell had 15 points for the Red Raiders, while Brooklyn Smith added 13 points and nine rebounds.

West Morgan girls 37, Westminster Christian Academy 24: Haniyah Standrdieg eld West Morgan with 14, while Presslee Coburn added 13

Mortimer Jordan girls 59, Hartselle 29: Hannah Burks and Brinley Sams each scored six points for Hartselle.

East Limestone girls 42, Athens 37: Ava Tillery scored 11 points to lead East Limestone to a win.

Jada Cain led Athens with 15.

Priceville boys 52, Danville 49: Evan Hopkins dropped a game-high 21 points as the Bulldogs edged a win over Danville on Thursday.

Ty Bailey led Danville with 15 points, while DonJay Compton added 10.

Falkville boys 69, Vinemont 67: Cayden Butler scored 17 points, surpassing 1,000 career points in the process, to lead Falkville to a thrilling win.

Eli Harris added 13 points and Zak Jackson had 12.

West Morgan boys 67, Randolph 53: Landon Henderson dropped a game-high 17 points as the Rebels picked up a big win in its season opener on Thursday.

Keelan Murphy finished with 12 points and Brandon Bradford had 11.

West Morgan girls 54, Randolph 17: Haniyah Standridge led the Rebels with 12 points, while Addison Knowlton had 11 and Chasity Rikard had 10.

Priceville girls 47, Danville 32: Abby Langlois scored 15 points and Brooklyn Bellamy added 10 for Priceville in a win.

Adily Alberti led Danville with 17 points, eight rebounds and five steals.

New Hope boys 55, Brewer 48: Jansen Brown scored 13 points and Cale Smith added 12 to lead Brewer.

Brewer girls 63, New Hope 23: Hannah Morrison poured in 17 points to lead Brewer, while Peyton Inman added 15.

Jasper boys, 72 Decatur Heritage 65: Jordan Davis led Decatur Heritage with 26 points. Karter Jeffreys finished with 17.

Athens boys 64, Lawrence County 56: Brayden Walker scored 15 points to lead Athens to an overtime win.

Newton Johnsey added 12 points, while Ben Newton led Lawrence County with 14.

East Lawrence boys 47, Priceville 37: Cayne McClure led East Lawrence with 14 points, while Jay Davis had a double-double, scoring 11 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.

Evan Hopkins led Priceville with 13.
