Wayne (NJ) DePaul Catholic four-star offensive lineman Marlen Bright took his official visit to Virginia Tech last weekend.
Standing on the field in a Hokies jersey, “out of nowhere Enter Sandman started playing!” Bright exclaimed.

“That’s a feeling you can’t take back. That was a beautiful thing.”
That was the moment Bright knew he was going to flip from Penn State to play for head coach James Franklin at Virginia Tech. He originally gave Franklin his verbal in July and now he’s excited to follow him to Blacksburg.
“I got to know the players there,” Bright said. “I believe that’s a team that can take it far. Obviously this year they didn’t show it but we’re going to have good players there already and with the development of Coach Franklin and the staff he’s going to bring in and the freshmen coming in, that team in a few years is going to be real good.”
Bright felt very comfortable at Virginia Tech.

“I already have the relationship with all the coaches,” Bright said. “I got to see a beautiful area and the hospitality was perfect there. It was immaculate, it was amazing.
“Honestly it was the perfect place for me.”
Rivals ranks Bright as the nation’s No. 29 offensive tackle and No. 269 prospect overall.
A look at the Virginia Tech class with Bright in the fold. The Hokies have now landed Bright, OT Roseby Lubintus and four-star running back Messiah Mickens since Franklin was hired.
