Whom should you start? Whom should you bench? To assist you in configuring your fantasy football rosters and to avoid selecting an offensive player not in the lineup, we will provide fantasy-related updates and insights here as NFL teams unveil their official inactive player lists.
Official Sunday inactives are expected to be announced roughly 90 minutes before the scheduled kickoff times: around 11:30 a.m. ET for the early matches and 2:30 p.m. ET for the late-afternoon contests.

What we’re monitoring early
-
Tee Higgins, WR, CIN (concussion): He has not yet passed the league’s concussion protocol, but there is still time before Sunday’s kickoff. Remain alert. With Charlie Jones (ankle) sidelined, Mitchell Tinsley may receive additional targets.
-
Quentin Johnston, WR, LAC (groin): He was limited in practice all week, but he might still attempt to play on Sunday. Tre’ Harris (hip) was not mentioned in the final injury report and could step in, if necessary.
-
Jason Sanders, K, MIA (hip): With Quinn Ewers starting at QB, the Dolphins may need to depend on field goals. However, it’s still uncertain whether it will be Riley Patterson or Sanders being called upon.
-
Mason Tipton, WR, NO (illness): With Devaughn Vele (shoulder) on IR, the Saints could be left with just the trio of Chris Olave, Kevin Austin Jr., and Dante Pettis at WR.
-
Tyrod Taylor, QB, NYJ (groin): While Taylor claims he’s feeling well enough to play, Brady Cook will once again start for the Jets. Justin Fields (knee) appears to be further from a return than Taylor.
-
Gunnar Helm, TE, TEN (toe): He has been sharing TE responsibilities with Chig Okonkwo and is anticipated to be involved in the passing game on Sunday.
-
Van Jefferson, WR, TEN (back): Tennessee’s main deep threat is predicted to be able to compete on Sunday.
Ruled out ahead of Sunday
-
Bam Knight, RB, ARI (ankle): Michael Carter steps up over Emari Demercado to take on lead back responsibilities after Knight was placed on IR.
-
KhaDarel Hodge, WR, ATL (shin): Hodge’s season is concluded after being put on IR. Darnell Mooney and David Sills V may retain their limited fantasy value as a consequence.
-
Matt Prater, K, BUF (quad): Michael Badgley was signed this week to replace the veteran kicker.
-
Dylan Sampson, RB, CLE (hand): Trayveon Williams will again serve as the primary backup to Quinshon Judkins.
-
David Njoku, TE, CLE (knee): Harold Fannin Jr. has been making the absence of the veteran TE more manageable.
-
Justin Watson, WR, HOU (Achilles): The receiver was not activated from the IR before Week 16’s matchup. It’s still possible he sees some action over the final two weeks.
-
Bhayshul Tuten, RB, JAX (finger): Tuten will undergo surgery and is out for the rest of the regular season. DeeJay Dallas will join LeQuint Allen Jr. in the backup lineup behind Travis Etienne Jr.
-
Rashee Rice, WR, KC (concussion): Tyquan Thornton is also ruled out with a concussion, meaning QB Gardner Minshew will need to rely on Xavier Worthy.
-
Ty Chandler, RB, MIN (knee): The team confirmed on Saturday that Chandler will remain on IR for Week 16. Aaron Jones Sr. and Jordan Mason likely don’t require any assistance right now.
-
Alvin Kamara, RB, NO (knee): As if the Saints’ backfield issues weren’t enough, Devin Neal (hamstring) was placed on IR. It looks like it may be Audric Estime’s time. That’s not someone a fantasy manager desires in his playoff lineup.
-
Mason Taylor, TE, NYJ (neck): Jeremy Ruckert, who just signed a two-year contract extension with the team, should receive plenty of targets.
What we’re monitoring late
Marvin Harrison Jr., WR, ARI (heel): Michael Wilson is definitely the safer choice, but it seems Harrison may be ready to suit up Sunday. Nevertheless, the team is likely to «easing him back» into play.
Xavier Weaver, WR, ARI (hamstring): Andre Baccellia (neck) has been placed on IR, leaving Jalen Brooks as the only healthy option should Weaver be unable to play.
Drake London, WR, ATL (knee): London is anticipated to play, as is TE Kyle Pitts Sr. (knee), who wasn’t listed on the team’s final injury report this week.
Nick Chubb, RB, HOU (ribs): Since he practiced fully on Thursday and Friday, the likelihood he plays is high. Woody Marks (ankle) was limited but could also be involved in the RB rotation. Jawhar Jordan might surprise if either of the other RBs is sidelined.
Christian Kirk, WR, HOU (illness): Even if he plays, it’s difficult to trust any Texans wide receiver except for Nico Collins.
