Carolina Panthers running back Jonathon Brooks may have been out of sight and out of mind for many fans this past season. But he hasn’t escaped the vision of the franchise’s all-time leading rusher.
Brooks’ first two seasons in the NFL haven’t exactly gone as planned. Since being selected in the second-round of the 2024 draft, the University of Texas standout has played in just three of a possible 35 games due to multiple ACL tears.

Team great and fellow running back Jonathan Stewart, however, seems to be looking forward to Brooks’ return. In fact, he gave the 22-year-old one heck of an endorsement on Twitter/X earlier today . . .
Brooks was held out from the first 10 games of his rookie campaign to finish up the recovery from his first torn ACL, which he sustained back at Texas in November of 2023. He’d debut in Week 12, only to go down with the same injury to the same knee just two outings after.
This past May, the Panthers placed Brooks on the physically unable ot perform list—sidelining him from the entire 2025 season.
He spoke with reporters from his locker on Sunday, following the team’s wild-card round loss to the Los Angeles Rams.

«I mean, obviously it’s like an emotional roller coaster, but you know, truthfully, I know that God has a plan for me and I know that he makes no mistakes and he’s using my story to show the world the amazing things he can do, and so I’m set on that,» Brooks said, via Kassidy Hill of Panthers.com.
Over the three contests he has played in, Brooks rushed nine times for 22 yards and caught three passes for 24 yards.
