LOS ANGELES — For the fifth occasion in his career, Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Davante Adams is set to compete in the NFC Championship Game.

He’s still in pursuit of his inaugural victory.

The Rams are up against the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field on Sunday, aiming for a shot at Super Bowl LX.

    Adams, who dedicated eight seasons to the Green Bay Packers, has often expressed during the Rams’ playoff journey that he wouldn’t feel «overlyjoyed» following their initial two postseason victories.

    «Having experienced this so many times and knowing exactly what is required to reach our ultimate goal,» Adams stated. «It’s indeed thrilling to accomplish the smaller objectives necessary to arrive at your destination, but getting to a Super Bowl feels almost mythical to me at this juncture.

    «You put in every effort possible to achieve that. It’s been exceptionally challenging, and [I’ve] been striving relentlessly. We’re close. We just need to clinch it.»

    2014 NFC Championship Game at Lumen Field. In that game, Seattle was down 19-7 with roughly four minutes left, managed to score, executed an onside kick, and found the end zone again to seize the lead, ultimately winning in overtime.

    «It’s tough to overlook that experience,» Adams remarked when queried about his return to Seattle. «A defeat like that lingers for a long time. And we have the chance to rectify that now.»

    When inquired about maintaining composure in these situations, Adams reflected on advice from former Packers teammate Aaron Rodgers throughout the years.

    «You may recall me mentioning that we don’t need any superhuman efforts,» Adams remarked. «That’s a quote from [Rodgers] that resonated with me back in 2016. Just considering that football is the most collaborative sport, striving to be Superman every week isn’t necessarily what’s required to complete the puzzle.»

    Adams, who did not make the postseason during his time with the Las Vegas Raiders or New York Jets after leaving Green Bay, affirmed that he didn’t take the Packers’ achievements lightly, yet cherishes the opportunity to participate in the playoffs once more.

    «Being back in a situation with a remarkable team and excellent circumstances, you definitely gain a deeper appreciation for moments like this,» Adams noted.

    The Rams have maintained an undefeated record in NFC Championship Games under coach Sean McVay, having triumphed over the New Orleans Saints in the 2018 season and the San Francisco 49ers in the 2021 season.
