The Los Angeles Rams and Chicago Bears capped off a wild divisional round on Sunday night with an exciting game that came down to the wire. Regulation wasn’t enough to decide a winner, as they needed an overtime period to settle the score.
The Rams won on a 42-yard field goal by Harrison Mevis, punching their ticket to the NFC Championship Game. It was as thrilling a game as the Rams have played all year and more than 45 million fans tuned in to see them win.

NBC announced on Thursday that Rams-Bears was the most-watched divisional playoff game in the network’s history, drawing an average of 45.4 million viewers on NBC and Peacock. The previous NBC record was held by Chiefs-Oilers in 1994 when Joe Montana and Kansas City beat Warren Moon and Houston. That game drew 41.1 million viewers.
Rams-Bears peaked in overtime with 52.6 million viewers from 9:45-10 p.m. ET.
With Matthew Stafford, Puka Nacua and Davante Adams, the Rams have been a must-see team this season, leading the NFL in points scored. In the playoffs, they’ve been equally exciting, playing two nail-biters against the Panthers and Bears.
We could get another all-timer between the Rams and Seahawks on Sunday night, too.
