ProBox, 5:30 pm ET, Bryan Flores vs Starling Castillo. A Lamont Roach Sr. promoted show from Hanover, Maryland. Flores has one pro loss, to Lindolfo Delgado. One pro loss for Castillo, too, four years ago to Otar Eranosyan. Both of these guys were on Showtime broadcast undercards, back when that was a thing people could do. Chief support is Sulaiman Segawa vs Rene Palacios, while Jordan Roach (Lamont Jr.’s 22 year old brother) appears deeper on the card. No live coverage, but I’m sure we’ll have a thread in The Feed for people to watch along together.
Swerve.TV, 10:00 pm ET, Night of Champions VII. From Long Beach, California. The only belt on the line that I can see is the NABA light heavyweight title. Biggest name on the card is Cassius Chaney, who did some business on the soggy jai alai court as part of late stage Don King events. But, it’s free! Get your Swerve(.TV) on!
TrillerTV+, 11:00 pm ET, Highland Boxing: Dangerous Encounter 2026. From Bangkok, Thailand. 14 fights showing on BoxRec, none of which match the series of six and four rounders previewed on the promoter’s social media. Top of the card appears to be a handful of eight-rounders, one of which is listed on BoxRec for the WBC Asian Silver Bridgerweight belt.
Saturday, January 31st
BBC2, 1:30 pm ET, Francesca Hennessy vs Ellie Bouttell. From London, England. Main event was Adam Azim vs Gustavo Lemos, but both men suffered injuries in training, and that fight is off. Can Hennessy vs Bouttell (for a silver WBC bantamweight belt!) fill the void? Or will it pull lower ratings than BBC2 morning reruns of Homes Under the Hammer and Gardeners’ World? Archie Sharp fights sub-.500 Angelo Dragone deep on the undercard, if that does anything for you.
DAZN, 2:00 pm ET, Bakhram Murtazaliev vs Josh Kelly. From Newcastle, England, for Murtazaliev’s IBF super welterweight title. Murtazaliev waited four years for his mandatory IBF shot, took full advantage of it, then took on Tim Tszyu in his first defense and absolutely battered him around the ring for three rounds. It was a brilliant performance, and it put Murtazaliev in the conversation for scariest man at 154 lbs. – no small feat given the talent there. So, of course, he’s been idle for 15 ½ months since then. Boxing! This is a Josh-heavy card, with fellow Joshes Padley and Blenkiron appearing in support. Also, a women’s IBF lightweight title fight, and Leo Atang in his 4th pro fight. BLH will have live updates
DAZN, 2:00 pm ET, Jacob Bank vs William Scull. From Kolding, Denmark – Denmark’s 8th largest city, and the home of Jutland’s last royal castle! Bank gets A-side treatment here, holding a lesser WBO belt and fresh off a win over Tyron Zeuge in September. Scull is, of course, the FORMER IBF WORLD CHAMPION, fighting for the first time since his loss to Canelo back in May. Dina Thorslund appears in support. Otherwise, not a lot of notable names. FUN FACT: This fight is happening at the home arena of Denmark’s most successful handball team. Capacity: 5,001, presumably so it can honestly be said it holds more than five thousand people.
DAZN PPV, 6:00 pm ET, RING 6: Teofimo Lopez vs Shakur Stevenson. From Madison Square Garden in New York City, for Lopez’s WBO super lightweight belt. Stevenson, the WBC lightweight champ, moves up to 140 for the first time as a pro. Stevenson’s a moderate favorite here, but only one man has ever toppled Lopez before. Carlos Adames defends his middleweight title against Ammo Williams, and Keyshawn Davis takes on Jamaine Ortiz. ALSO: Bruce “Shu Shu” Carrington, recently upgraded from interim to full WBC featherweight champ, defends it against Carlos Castro. And, Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller! All for just $69.99 American, or whatever combination of 2-for-1 discount PPVs or annual pass subscription pricing incentives you choose! BLH will have live updates
Top Rank Classics, 6:30 pm ET, Xander Zayas vs Abass Baraou. From San Juan, Puerto Rico. A super welterweight unification of the WBO (Zayas) and WBA (Baraou) titles. Tough break for Zayas, fighting to unify on a show that’s head-to-head with every other marketable name in the Top Rank stable (apologies to Richard Torrez) on the biggest PPV event of the year so far. Six months and counting, and Top Rank still has no broadcast or streaming deal, and we’re still doing the in-house Roku channel. But, much like that Swerve.TV show… It’s free! And, it could be a good little fight! Baraou was a whirlwind when he beat Yoenis Tellez in August, while Zayas appears to actually be something close to what Edgar Berlanga was hyped as a few years ago. Giovani Santillan and Rohan Polanco feature on the undercard.
