Joe Brady's hiring by Bills leaves Cardinals as 1 of 3 teams without HC

The Arizona Cardinals are one of the final three teams without a head coach still. The seventh team of the 10 who needed a new head coach made their decision.

The Buffalo Bills hired offensive coordinator Joe Brady to replace Sean McDermott, fired after the Bills lost to the Denver Broncos in the divisional round of the playoffs.

Brady was targeted by the Cardinals as a potential candidate. They requested an interview with him.

But with Brady landing the gig with the Bills, only the Cardinals, the Las Vegas Raiders and the Cleveland Browns remain without a head coach.

The Browns are a mess. The Raiders seem like they will land Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, but the Cardinals are in a weird spot.

Their three leading candidates were Anthony Campanile, Raheem Morris and Mike LaFleur. Campanile agreed to a new deal to return to Jacksonville as their defensive coordinator. LaFleur had a two-day meeting with the Cardinals that should have ended with a report of them finalizing a deal to make him the next head coach. That hasn’t happened.

As for Morris? We haven’t heard much about him since his initial interview.

The Cardinals aren’t afraid of being patient. It worked out for them in 2013 when they hired Bruce Arians. However, things don’t seem to be unfolding very well right now. We will have to see how they react or pivot if that is needed.
