The 1-7 New Orleans Saints will travel to the 5-4 Carolina Panthers this week as 5.5-point underdogs. The Saints just traded away WR Rashid Shaheed, while they trot out Tyler Shough at QB, in one of the tankiest seasons you’ll see. Once a superstar, running back Alvin Kamara continues to lead the backfield in an offense where he isn’t going to get much help in his declining years. This week he is once again questionable with an ankle injury.
Alvin Kamara injury updates
Kamara did his usual practice week routine by being limited each day and then getting a questionable tag due to his ankle injury. Does his ankle even hurt or are they just using it as a substitute for “needs rest due to oldness”?
Fantasy football analysis
If Kendre Miller hadn’t been lost for the season to an injury, he’d probably be seeing a lot of work in the backfield at this point, but since he is out, rookie Devin Neal has hit 46% and 39% of the running back snaps over the last two games. Kamara hasn’t topped 15 touches since Week 4 and has just 8 and 7 touches over the last two weeks. At this point he is teetering on the edge of needing to be benched in most leagues.
