Anfernee Simons shines with 39 points as Celtics conquer Heat, 119-114

Boston Celtics player Anfernee Simons redefined the term «benchwarmer» on Thursday evening, as his dynamic performance off the bench energized a struggling offense and sparked a 19-point rally in a 119-115 victory over the Miami Heat.

The Celtics player recorded a season-best 39 points in 34 minutes, with 26 of those points scored in the second half. Despite Boston losing the turnover count 13-10 and facing defensive challenges for much of the game, it maintained control over Miami’s lead. In the closing quarter, the C’s restricted the Heat to just 21 points while depending on crucial shots from Simons and a timely tip-in from Sam Hauser that put them ahead 113-107 with 1:38 left on the clock.

Following their second-largest comeback triumph of the season, the Celtics have a record of 12-0 when Simons scores 17 points or more. They currently sit at 25-15 overall and are on a 9-game winning streak at the Kaseya Center (including regular season and playoffs).

The Green Team will look to secure another victory during their road trip on Saturday night against the Atlanta Hawks.
