The Arizona Cardinals may have an opportunity to evaluate a right tackle to end the season, changing up some needs if he can play.

The team announced on Wednesday they are designating Christian Jones to open up his practice window.

The Arizona Cardinals Football Club today announced that the team has designated offensive lineman Christian Jones to return from the injured reserve list.

Jones can begin practicing and the team can activate him to the 53-man roster at any time during the next 21 days or at the conclusion of the three-week period.

In addition, the team has signed running back Montrell Johnson Jr. to the practice squad. The signing took place today at the Dignity Health Arizona Cardinals Training Center in Tempe, AZ.

Johnson (5-11, 212) is a rookie who entered the league with the Eagles as a free agent from Florida. He spent three seasons at Florida after beginning his collegiate career at Louisiana and total 3,089 yards and 33 touchdowns on 569 carries. Johnson also had 411 yards and two touchdowns on 61 receptions.

Johnson will wear jersey #26.

With Jonah Williams done for the season and likely his time in Arizona over, that leaves Kelvin Beachum and Josh Fryar as the right tackle options.

Well, when Jones was taken last year in the fifth round, the team seemed to have some high hopes for him. Now, can he get back and earn reps to get evaluated for next year?
