Bracket nearly set for 2025 West Region Volleyball Tournament

JAMESTOWN — It’s playoff time for North Dakota high school volleyball.

The 2025 Class AA volleyball postseason will begin with the West Region Tournament. The top six finishers in the WDA regular season standings automatically advanced to the quarterfinal round. Jamestown picked up the No. 3 seed entering the tournament. The Blue Jays are set to face sixth-seeded Dickinson on Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. at Mandan High School.

The final two quarter-finalists were determined by play-in matches. Eighth-seeded Minot North punched its ticket to the WDA tourney on Thursday, defeating the WDA’s No. 9 seed, Bismarck St. Mary’s 3-1. The second play-in match between Williston and Mandan was played on Friday. Final results were not available when The Jamestown Sun went to press.

After the quarterfinal round, loser-out and semifinal matches will be held on Friday, Nov. 14. The two state qualifiers and the championship match will be played on Nov. 15. The four placewinners advance to the Division AA state tournament held at the Bismarck Event Center.

Jamestown is entering the tournament with a 14-5 conference record. The Blue Jays won six of their last seven conference games and are 19-11 overall.

At the conclusion of the regular season, the Blue Jays had several players among the WDA’s stat leaders.

Mari Anderson is leading the entire WDA in total blocks with an incredible 62.5. Alexis Heinle of Bismarck Century was the No. 2 blocker in the West with 46 stops.

Junior Lucy Falk was second in the conference in total kills and aces with 304 and 37 respectively. Hannah Attleson’s 446 assists put her at fifth in the conference while senior libero Jetta Peterson was ranked second in digs with an average of 24.8 per match and 422 total.
