2025 season review
Before Daniel Jones suffered a season-ending Achilles injury, he was one of the more productive quarterbacks in football, providing the Colts with much-needed stability at the position, but also playmaking abilities as well.
Richardson would spend most of the season on injured reserve due to an eye injury. Leonard then stepped into the backup quarterback role behind Jones and eventually Phillip Rivers.
What is the level of need this offseason?
On paper, it’s fairly high. However, it seems quite clear that the plan is to re-sign Daniel Jones, who is set to be a free agent.
Chris Ballard and Shane Steichen have made it known that they want Jones back. Jones has also expressed his desire to return to Indianapolis.

The two sides, however, will have to work through what Jones’ next deal is going to look like, with him coming off a major injury.
Beyond that, the other question here is what is next for Richardson?
There really isn’t a path forward for him with the Colts when it comes to regaining the starting role, and Leonard showcased against Houston that he could be a capable backup option. Could the Colts look to trade Richardson this offseason?
