The date, time and opponent for the New England Patriots have been set for the divisional round of the playoffs.
With the Houston Texans’ dominant 30-6 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, they will move on to the divisional round to face the Patriots at Gillette Stadium on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. ET.

It will be a tough matchup for the Patriots, who defeated the Los Angeles Chargers by a 16-3 margin in the wild-card round. Patriots quarterback Drake Maye turned the ball over twice, and the offense didn’t have its best performance against a great Chargers defense.
That will have to change with the team set to stand toe-to-toe with an elite Texans defense.
This will be a game of strength versus strength. The Patriots’ offense averaged 28.8 points per game during the regular season, while the Texans’ defense has allowed the fewest total yards per game in 2025 with opponents averaging 273.3 yards per game against them.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Patriots have been solid down the stretch, and they’ll be facing a Texans offense that has looked shaky at times. Can they stand their ground long enough for Maye and company to make a dent on the other side of the ball?
