In a weekend that started with Miami fans making grocery lists for next year’s draft, De’Von Achane made sure their dinner wasn’t the only thing getting cooked in South Florida. With the Dolphins staring down a heavyweight Buffalo team riding high atop the AFC East, Achane slipped on his cape or maybe just some very fast cleats and turned Hard Rock Stadium into his own personal racetrack. The final score, Miami 30, Buffalo 13, was a masterpiece of athletic surprise, flipping the AFC script and, finally, letting Dolphins fans hold their own at the watercooler.
Achane’s explosive performance wasn’t just a highlight; it was the whole movie. Running lanes opened and closed, but he kept the popcorn going, finding seams and sprinting for 174 yards on 22 carries, tacking on two crucial touchdowns. Whether it was his game-breaking 59-yard sprint in the fourth quarter, leaving defenders grasping at air, or his 35-yard score that sent half the Bills defense searching for the nearest exit, Achane did everything except steal Buffalo’s bus tickets home.
