French Forward Commends Inter Milan Development Following Parma Victory: “We Are Heading in the Right Direction”

Inter Milan striker Ange-Yoan Bonny praised the team’s progress following a dominant 2-0 away win over Parma last night.

Speaking to Domenica Sportiva via FCINterNews, the Frenchman highlighted the importance of Wednesday’s victory at the Ennio Tardini.

Cristian Chivu and Bonny returned to Emilia-Romagna as opponents after helping Parma avoid relegation last season.

However, the 22-year-old center-forward started on the bench, entering the field in the 85th minute at the expense of Lautaro Martinez.

Indeed, Chivu refused to put Bonny at risk, considering the youngster has just recovered from a minor knee injury.

Despite being introduced five minutes from time, Bonny managed to get on the scoresheet.

Yet, VAR disallowed his goal for a handball in the build-up as Marcus Thuram used his arm to control the ball before passing it to his attacking teammate.

Thuram made amends for that mistake moments later, netting yet another goal against Parma to seal Inter’s well-deserved win.

“We’re on the right path,” Bonny said after the game. “Three very important points, and now we look ahead to Sunday’s match.”

Inter will take on bitter rivals Napoli in a revenge-poised clash next weekend, looking to settle the account with Antonio Conte’s side.

Indeed, Napoli claimed a controversial 3-1 win in October’s reverse fixture at Stadio Diego Maradona.

Therefore, the Nerazzurri will be eager to extend their six-game winning Serie A streak when the two sides meet on Sunday.

More importantly, it would deepen the gap between Inter and Napoli in the standings.

Chivu’s men currently boast a four-point lead over the reigning champions, who drew 2-2 at home to Hellas Verona yesterday.

Meanwhile, Bonny believes Inter have what it takes to win the Scudetto this season.

Asked whether they can do it, he replied: “Yes, it’s achievable.

“With the quality we have in the squad, it’s easy to play alongside everyone. I make myself available to do my best.”
