
Fresh after his big win over Andy Cruz to maintain his IBF lightweight title, Raymond Muratalla gives he reaction to what took place in the ring, vindicating himself against Cruz, and explains that he’s now targeting the winner of this upcoming weekend’s fight between Teofimo Lopez and Shakur Stevenson. Muratalla on if he fought the fight of his life against Cruz
“I did what I knew I was going to do. We knew he was going to be tough, he’s a good boxer and, yeah, I know I was going to have to fight that fight and I did.”
On if the fight played out as expected
“We kind of knew he was going to fight the way he fought. I was prepared for whatever way he wanted to fight me. We knew he was going to move around, we prepared, and I got the win tonight.”
On whether this fight was too soon for Cruz, similar to Salido vs Lomachenko
“Absolutely, it was way too soon for him. You guys seen that tonight.”
On showcasing his skill along with his aggression
“Just goes to show I got just as much skills if not more. We know he’s an Olympic Gold medalist and I got the skills tonight.”
On his plans to move up 140
“I would like the winner of Teo and Shakur next week. I’d love the winner of that…whoever wins, whatever weight they want to fight at, I’m there.”
On how he matches up against Teofimo and Shakur
“Both of those fights are great fights. I think boxing would love that. And that’s that. I think it would be a tremendous fight with either one of them.”
