Inter Milan 1-3 Arsenal – Goalscorer Petar Sucic Admits: “They Were Clinical, We Weren’t”

Inter Milan midfielder Petar Sucic admitted that Arsenal ‘were more clinical’ than his side in last night’s Champions League game at San Siro.

Speaking to UEFA via FCInternews, the 22-year-old identified the critical difference in yesterday’s 3-1 home defeat.

Indeed, the Serie A pacesetters have yet to beat a top team this season, with last night’s loss marking another ‘big match’ failure.

Furthermore, the Nerazzurri have now lost three consecutive Champions League outings for the first time since 2011.

And as a result, they could fail to secure automatic qualification for the Round of 16 for the second season on the trot.

Meanwhile, Petar Sucic impressed in his second Champions League start for the club.

He was a rare shining light for last season’s finalists, scoring an incredible equalizer in the first half.

Unfortunately, his heroics couldn’t prevent Inter’s second defeat in four Champions League clashes against Arsenal.

Despite losing by a two-goal margin, Sucic insists Inter deserved more for what they showed on Tuesday evening.

“It’s tough because we didn’t deserve to lose like this,” he said after the game.

“In the first half, we had excellent chances to make it 2–1, but they took theirs.”

Then, he praised Inter’s performance and hailed Arsenal as the best team they’ve faced in Europe this season.

“We lost, but I think we played well,” Sucic added. “I’m sorry about the defeat, but we still have another match in the group, and we have to win it.

“Are Arsenal the best opponent we’ve faced so far? Yes, they’ve won all their Champions League matches and they’re top of the league.

“The results speak for themselves. They were more clinical in the final third and found more ways to score.

“We’ll go to Dortmund to win; we know it’s the only way. Then we’ll see if it will be enough.”
