The New York Jets have an injury concern with wide receiver Garrett Wilson, who has already missed multiple games this season.
Wilson came down with a hyperextended knee in Week 6 that forced him to miss two games before he returned to the field out of the bye in Week 10.
However, Wilson once again injured his knee in the win over the Cleveland Browns and is now on the Week 11 injury report, as expected.
Here’s what we know about his chances of playing on Thursday night against the New England Patriots.
Is Garrett Wilson playing this week?
No, Wilson is not expected to play in Week 11 against the Dolphins. And, in fact, he is expected to be out for multiple games.
Wilson has not practiced in either of the first two days of the week, according to the team’s official injury report, and we wouldn’t expect him to practice on Wednesday before the Jets rule him out.
That’s because ESPN’s Rich Cimini reports that Wilson is expected to miss at least three to four weeks with what is being called a right knee sprain.
Head coach Aaron Glenn declined to give an update on Wilson on Tuesday because of that report, and it led to a contentious exchange with reporters.
Whatever the case may be, the Jets’ wide receivers situation is a total mess with Wilson sidelined. Josh Reynolds is on injured reserve and Allen Lazard was a healthy scratch last week.
If Lazard doesn’t play in Week 11, the Jets’ top receivers will be rookie Arian Smith and sophomore playmaker Adonai Mitchell, assuming he actually suits up after the Jets made him a healthy scratch last week.
