It was something that changed the Boston Celtics forever. And to be honest, the NBA as well — the untimely death of Celtics rookie Len Bias soon after the draft that would have brought him to the storied ball club as the next chapter in Boston excellence rocked the organization, and took the team decades to fully recover from.

Gone too soon after an overdose that shook the nation, the Maryland alum’s passing left a mark on a number of his would-be teammates that lasted up to the present. Two of them, Celtics Hall of Fame big men Kevin McHale and Robert Parish, opened up about that wound to the team for the «Celtics City» docuseries, sharing their thoughts on how his passing changed the course of NBA history.
