NEW YORK — The NBA has penalized Toronto‘s Brandon Ingram with a $25,000 fine for forcefully tossing a water bottle onto the floor while seated on the bench during the Raptors’ match against Philadelphia on Saturday evening.
James Jones, the executive vice president of basketball operations, communicated the penalty on Monday.
Ingram hurled the bottle like a football midway through the third quarter of a 130-120 defeat to the 76ers, causing it to hit an arena staff member after bouncing. The game was paused to clean up the spilled water from the court.
Ingram, 28, is currently in his 10th year in the league and his first complete season with the Raptors.
