Captain and record appearance maker Maximilian Arnold has extended his contract with VfL Wolfsburg by two years.
The 31-year-old midfielder is now tied to the currently struggling Bundesliga club until 2028.
«I am staying at VfL with complete conviction,» Arnold said in a statement on Thursday.
«Wolfsburg has been my sporting home for many years. In my private life, my family and I feel incredibly comfortable here. I am convinced by the path the club has taken and want to continue to take responsibility.»
Arnold moved from Dynamo Dresden to Wolfsburg’s youth academy in 2009. For the first team, he has so far made a club-record 458 competitive appearances.
In 2011 the three-time Germany international became, at 17, the youngest Bundesliga debutant in the history of the Wolves.
