HENDERSON, Nev. — Jackson Powers-Johnson, the starting right guard for the Las Vegas Raiders, is anticipated to be placed on injured reserve, possibly sidelining him for the rest of the season due to an ankle injury, according to an ESPN source.

The injury occurred during the second quarter of Thursday evening’s narrow 10-7 defeat against the Denver Broncos, when the second-year lineman twisted his ankle while being sacked by Denver edge rusher Nik Bonitto, who took down Raiders quarterback Geno Smith.

The former Oregon standout required assistance to leave the field and was later transported to the locker room via cart. Raiders head coach Pete Carroll remarked after the game that he expects Powers-Johnson to be out «for a while.»

Fortunately, a source indicated that Powers-Johnson will not require surgery.

With him out of action, the Raiders will be without at least two starters on their offensive line for the upcoming game against the Dallas Cowboys on «Monday Night Football.»

Kolton Miller, the starting left tackle, has been on injured reserve since October 2 due to a high ankle sprain coupled with a hairline fracture, sustained during Week 4’s loss to the Chicago Bears.

Additionally, Dylan Parham, the starting left guard, suffered a high ankle sprain in the game against Denver. Carroll mentioned that Parham tried to re-enter the match but was prevented from doing so.
