Accolades
In his first head coaching opportunity, Kubiak led the Strake Jesuit College Prep Crusaders to an impressive 24-11 record. In his first year as OC for San Francisco, the 49ers’ offense ranked No. 5 in passing yards, No. 7 in total yards, and No. 10 in scoring.
Potential fit with Pittsburgh
Kubiak isn’t the prototypical defensive-minded coach of Pittsburgh’s past, but he hails from one of the league’s most illustrious coaching trees — the Shanahan family. While the sample size is small, Kubiak’s offensive approach could be exactly what the Steelers need to catch up with the ever-changing pace of today’s league.
