Texans lose TE Schultz (calf) for rest of game

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — The Houston Texans faced a setback as tight end Dalton Schultz was officially declared out for the remainder of their playoff game against the New England Patriots due to a calf injury.

On Houston’s second offensive series, Schultz made an impressive 42-yard catch that advanced the team to the Patriots’ 27-yard line, ultimately resulting in a field goal that brought the score to 7-3 with just under six minutes left in the first quarter.

After his notable reception, Schultz promptly headed to the locker room, and by the middle of the second quarter, he was ruled out for the game.

Entering this matchup, the Texans were already without Pro Bowl wide receiver Nico Collins, who achieved 1,117 receiving yards and six touchdowns this past season. Collins suffered a concussion during Houston’s previous playoff win against the Pittsburgh Steelers, where they triumphed 30-6.

During the regular season, Schultz concluded with a total of 777 receiving yards, marking him as the Texans’ second-leading pass catcher.
