Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn are set to face off again this weekend in England, and despite Chris Eubank Sr putting in significant effort to prevent the initial bout from occurring due to his alleged moral principles (even claiming he wouldn’t engage in any way), he will still show up on fight night, taking the spotlight under the dazzling lights.
While numerous individuals have since condemned Eubank Sr as a hypocrite, he maintains his convictions, asserting that he will always support his son. During a conversation with Carl Froch, George Groves, and others regarding his stance on this rematch and its legitimacy, he provided this reply.
“For three years I’ve insisted that this fight shouldn’t occur because the weight categories are incorrect,” Eubank Sr stated. “I can’t be proven wrong because I’m adhering to the regulations. I’ve expressed everything I needed to say; my stance remains unchanged. Therefore, I won’t keep reiterating the same points. You will witness the repercussions. Just wait. Dehydration is perilous.
“Observe what unfolds… You were not present in the ambulance with my son [after the initial match]. He was in a precarious situation in the ambulance. He was in a critical state, and what I’m conveying to you is that the public is unaware of this.”
Despite Eubank Sr’s viewpoint, it is evident that he will again be present, as Froch highlights that his ongoing media appearances concerning the matter have only served to further hype the fight.
