Mike Tomlin is out as Pittsburgh Steelers head coach, a job he’s held for 19 seasons with the franchise with not a single year below .500.
So the world his his oyster — he could have his pick of any open NFL job, but there have been rumblings that he could take a TV job — it was back in 2018 that CBS’s Jim Nantz and Tony Romo picked him to have a future on the air.

What’s the news there? Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, «My sense is that he’s going to go into television.» That could mean it could be a long-term thing, or he could take a year off coaching and come back in 2027.
There’s also this from The Athletic’s Andrew Marchand, who thinks Tomlin could have his pick for a landing spot:
Fox is considered the favorite, as it has not filled Jimmy Johnson’s seat on Fox’s NFL studio show following Johnson’s retirement.
Remember that CBS has former Steelers coach Bill Cowher at its studio show desk, so that might be a factor there.
