He has been Spotify’s most-streamed artist four times since 2020, including last year. Though he is considered the first solo Latino artist to headline the Super Bowl halftime show, Bad Bunny also made an appearance during the Super Bowl halftime show featuring Shakira and Jennifer Lopez in 2020.
The NFL’s decision to highlight Bad Bunny has been controversial since he is an outspoken critic of United States President Donald Trump and previously stopped touring in the U.S. due to the potential presence of ICE agents at his concerts. Trump criticized the NFL, calling Bad Bunny’s inclusion «absolutely ridiculous» in October.
On Jan. 16, the reggaeton star dropped a new trailer for his Super Bowl halftime performance, teasing that on Feb. 8, «the world will dance.»
The clip shows him hitting play on his hit track «BAILE INoLVIDABLE» before breaking into choreography with dancers of various ages and backgrounds.
