Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark has achieved a new milestone in her career: becoming a Nike signature athlete.
The first overall selection in the 2024 WNBA draft was announced on Monday as the legendary brand’s latest signature athlete, which includes the unveiling of a new signature logo, a line of sportswear and apparel — and eventually a signature sneaker.
«Nike’s roster of signature athletes includes some of the greatest in history, and I am truly honored to join such esteemed company,» Clark stated in a release. «I can’t wait to share an initial glimpse of what we’ve begun to create together.»
Clark’s signature logo showcases interlaced C’s along with a smaller, concealed C. As per the Nike announcement, it symbolizes her «deep connection with fans worldwide who are attracted to her unyielding confidence, unwavering commitment, and outstanding shooting skills,» highlighting how «Caitlin’s game was developed from the core — a result of her love for the game, tireless determination, and ceaseless quest for excellence.»
A’ja Wilson and Sabrina Ionescu are currently active WNBA players with signature sneakers.
Clark, the leading scorer in NCAA Division I history, has been associated with Nike since 2022. In 2024, she entered into a long-term agreement with the sports apparel giant worth an estimated $28 million, regarded as the richest sponsorship deal for a female basketball player. The announcement made on Monday underscored a key aspect of that enhanced collaboration.
«At Nike, we have always drawn inspiration from not only the world’s elite athletes but also from those who uplift the essence of sport itself. Caitlin embodies both — an extraordinary basketball player and a remarkable ambassador for the sport,» stated Ann Miller, Nike’s executive vice president of global sports marketing, in a statement. «We’re thrilled to embark on this next chapter together, continuing to influence this historic era for women’s basketball and advancing the game and industry further.»
Clark broke numerous records during her inaugural season in the WNBA and placed fourth in MVP voting; however, she has been restricted to just 13 games out of the Fever’s 37 contests in 2025 due to injuries.
