Most Valuable Promotions has unveiled the full supporting cast for Amanda Serrano’s January 3rd rematch with Erika Cruz in San Juan, including a lightweight title bout and some of Puerto Rico’s top talents.
The co-feature sees 44-year-old former titlist Holly Holm (34-2-3, 9 KO), who returned to boxing in June after 12 years as a mixed martial artist, challenge undefeated WBA champion Stephanie Han (11-0, 3 KO) over 10 three-minute rounds. Holm swept Mexico’s Yolanda Vega in that comeback bout, meaning she technically hasn’t lost a round in the ring since beating Anne Sophie Mathis in their 2012 rematch. Han, eight years Holm’s junior, figures to be a very different animal.
“From El Paso to the world stage, now I get to fight Holly Holm in Puerto Rico next to the island’s greatest boxer in Amanda Serrano,” noted Han. “Every sacrifice has led to this moment, and I’m grateful and excited for the opportunity.
“Equal opportunity at that, with three-minute rounds.”
“I feel great,” said the 44-year-old Holm. “I’m excited to have the opportunity to fight for a fourth weight division title and add to my legacy on Saturday, January 3. I’m thankful to MVP for this opportunity and look forward to fighting in Puerto Rico, an island with a deep boxing culture.”
Henry Lebron (20-0, 10 KO), Jan Paul Rivera (13-0, 7 KO), and Krystal Rosado (7-1, 2 KO) all see action earlier on the show.
