Karim Adeyemi was one of Borussia Dortmund’s standout performers in their 4-1 defeat to Manchester City.
The 23-year-old troubled Manchester City with his pace and sharp footwork, but ultimately failed to change the scoreline – much to the frustration of coach Niko Kovač.
“Offensively, he did really well. But he also needs to reward himself, because he had two or three really good opportunities, which Foden converted at the other end. I would have liked Karim to do the same – he didn’t,” Kovač said at the press conference after the game.
“Defensively, he performed much better in the second half than in the first. Overall, I was satisfied with his performance. But, of course, as a striker, you want to score goals. I think he will manage that again in the upcoming games,» added the BVB coach.
This season, Adeyemi has scored three goals in 18 appearances for Dortmund.
