NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Julius Randle scored 28 points and grabbed nine rebounds, leading Minnesota on a subdued evening for Anthony Edwards, as the Timberwolves overcame the New Orleans Pelicans 125-116 on Thursday night.
Edwards concluded the game with only 11 points in 31 minutes of play. He achieved a season-high of 44 points on Tuesday in Minnesota’s 146-142 overtime triumph in the first match of the two-game series.

Naz Reid contributed 19 points, seven rebounds, and six assists for the Timberwolves, marking their fourth consecutive win. Rudy Gobert added 15 points and 12 rebounds, while Donte DiVincenzo also had 15 points.
Trey Murphy III scored 21 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds for the Pelicans, who are on a five-game losing streak and fell to 3-20. Jeremiah Fears and Saddiq Bey both contributed 20 points.
The Pelicans scored the first point in the fourth quarter, taking a 91-88 lead. The Wolves then went on a run of 15 unanswered points to establish a 103-91 lead and maintained that advantage.
Reid, who attended LSU, made two 3-pointers and executed an alley-oop dunk during the surge.
