Abit more than 24 hours prior to Texas A&M (11-1, 7-1 SEC) welcoming Miami (10-2) for the opening round of the College Football Playoff, the Aggie media team unveiled a preview of the uniforms Texas A&M will don, showcasing maroon jerseys, while an updated clip on Thursday evening offered a sneak peek at the complete outfit, which aims to compete with Miami’s classic white away appearance.
As per the video, Texas A&M is set to step onto Kyle Field on Saturday adorned in maroon helmets, maroon jerseys, and white trousers, reflecting the typical home attire. The sole deviation was the blackout uniform seen against Mississippi State earlier in the season, which led to a 31-9 victory over the Bulldogs.

Nonetheless, the Aggies misled everyone earlier this week by suggesting a possible blackout, which would have marked a first for an early 11:00 a.m. start. Regardless, the uniforms the Aggies choose won’t necessarily enhance their chances against the Hurricanes, who boast one of the premier defenses nationwide, along with an electrifying playmaker in freshman wide receiver Malachi Toney.
Head coach Mike Elko is optimistic that playing at home three weeks after a road loss to Texas to conclude the regular season will serve as a winning formula, complemented by a productive week of practice. The update is that star running back Le’Veon Moss, absent for the last six games due to an ankle injury, is “questionable” for Saturday’s game. Meanwhile, senior linebacker Scooby Williams and safety Bryce Anderson are deemed “probable” with a 75% likelihood of taking the field.
Regardless, Texas A&M’s optimal route to a matchup against Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl hinges on starting quarterback Marcel Reed performing at an elite standard, both in the pocket and while running, versus a Miami defensive line spearheaded by Rueben Bain, who aims to disrupt the Aggies’ offensive strategy.
Texas A&M will face off against Miami on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with coverage available on ABC and ESPN.
