Source: Lakers' Reaves (calf) out at least 4 weeks

The guard for the Los Angeles Lakers, Austin Reaves, is anticipated to be out for a minimum of four weeks due to a strain in his calf, a source informed ESPN’s Shams Charania on Friday.

Reaves was declared inactive at halftime during a 119-96 defeat against the Houston Rockets on Thursday because of discomfort in his left calf and exited Crypto.com Arena without a brace on his leg. The team indicated that an MRI performed on Friday showed a grade 2 strain in the left gastrocnemius.

Prior to this, Reaves had recently sat out three games due to what the Lakers classified as a mild strain in his left calf. He had made his return on Tuesday, scoring 17 points in 22 minutes while coming off the bench against the Phoenix Suns.

He started against Houston, although Redick had mentioned that Reaves would still be under a minutes restriction.

In the first half against the Rockets, Reaves scored 12 points on 5-for-8 shooting in 15 minutes. Marcus Smart took over to start the third quarter in place of Reaves.
