With Hayato Tsutsumi nursing an eye injury, newly minted WBA super featherweight champion Jazza Dickens will instead make his inaugural defense against former IBF titlist Anthony Cacace on March 14th in Dublin, Ireland.
Dickens (36-5, 15 KO) is in career-best form at 34 years old, starting 2025 with an upset of Zelfa Barrett in the latter’s hometown of Manchester and following up with an impressive knockout of 2020 Olympic gold medalist Albert Batyrgaziev in Istanbul. He was slated to end the year against ace prospect Tsutsumi in Japan, but now faces another road game against “Anto.”
Cacace (24-1, 9 KO) put the hurt on Joe Cordina for the IBF title in May of 2024, only to ditch the belt rather than face mandatory challenger Eduardo “Sugar” Nunez,“ instead opting for higher-reward showdowns with former champions Josh Warrington and Leigh Wood. He’s 36 himself, but still looks sharp and should make for a fun clash of styles with Dickens.
The co-feature pits unbeaten hometown favorite Pierce O’Leary (18-0, 10 KO) against Mark Chamberlain (17-1-1, 12 KO), who used to be Turki’s Specialest Boy before a 1-1-1 stretch saw him fall to Josh Padley and draw with Jack Rafferty.
