Stafford, Garrett, Nacua top NFL All-Pro Team

Matthew Stafford surpassed Drake Maye, while Myles Garrett, Puka Nacua, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba were unanimous selections for the 2025 Associated Press NFL All-Pro Team.

Bijan Robinson was named the top running back, and Christian McCaffrey took home the All-Purpose award. Ja’Marr Chase was selected as the third wide receiver, and tight end Trey McBride received 49 out of 50 first-place votes.

Will Anderson Jr. and Micah Parsons joined Garrett as edge rushers, while Jeffery Simmons and Zach Allen made the cut as interior defensive linemen.

«That’s fantastic. I truly needed that,» said Parsons, who underwent surgery for a torn ACL and will miss the playoffs with the Packers. «I’m eager to strive for that same recognition this offseason.»

The 37-year-old Stafford garnered 31 first-place votes, outpacing Maye’s 18 to earn All-Pro recognition for the first time in his 17-year journey. Josh Allen received the remaining vote. Stafford led the NFL in both passing yards with 4,707 and touchdowns with 46, boasting a passer rating of 109.2—second only to Maye’s 113.5. Maye finished the season with 4,394 passing yards and 31 touchdowns.

Last season, Lamar Jackson was named the first-team All-Pro quarterback, with Allen taking home the AP NFL MVP award.

«That’s incredible,» Stafford remarked upon learning the news. «I didn’t anticipate this. I’ve played for many years with immense respect for the game and for my peers. It’s an impressive achievement, reflecting the hard work that goes into this.»

Stafford is the second player in history to be honored as a first-team All-Pro in his 17th season or later, as reported by the Elias Sports Bureau. Kicker Gary Anderson also achieved this milestone in 1998. Prior to Stafford, Fran Tarkenton held the record for the longest wait for a quarterback, being recognized as an All-Pro in his 15th season in 1975.

The Denver Broncos, the No. 1 seed in the AFC, had four players named to the first team and two players on the second team. Allen, left tackle Garrett Boles, left guard Quinn Meinerz, and special teamer Devon Key represented the first team, while cornerback Patrick Surtain II—last year’s NFL Defensive Player of the Year—and safety Talanoa Hufanga were chosen for the second team.

Eagles cornerback Quinyon Mitchell and slot cornerback Cooper DeJean secured spots in their second seasons. Houston’s Derek Stingley Jr. earned 41 first-place votes, leading the cornerback category.

Chiefs center Creed Humphrey, Bears left guard Joe Thuney, and Lions right tackle Penei Sewell—alongside Meinerz—are repeat selections.

Garrett, who shattered the NFL single-season sack record with 23, has been honored as an All-Pro five times. Parsons is a three-time first-teamer and has once made the second team.

«That’s insane,» Anderson said regarding his recognition alongside Garrett and Parsons. «It holds great significance for me. I’m incredibly grateful and must acknowledge my teammates. Their support has been pivotal.»

Baltimore’s Kyle Hamilton and Chicago’s Kevin Byard are the selected safeties. The linebackers are Detroit’s Jack Campbell and Miami’s Jordyn Brooks.

San Francisco fullback Kyle Juszczyk completes the offensive roster.

There are 18 players receiving their first honors, including five from special teams.

Key, Vikings kicker Will Reichard, Ravens punter Jordan Stout, Bills kick returner Ray Davis, and Titans rookie punt returner Chimera Dike are first-timers. Jaguars long snapper Ross Matiscik earned his second selection.

Dike stands as the fourth rookie to be selected since 2020.

«That’s fantastic,» Dike stated. «Every player aspires to become an All-Pro, and this was a goal I set at the season’s start. I’m thankful my special teams coach (John Fassel) and teammates believed in me.»

This marks the fourth year of the AP’s new voting framework, where voters select a first and a second team. First-team votes are assigned three points, while second-team votes receive one point.

The accounting firm of Lutz and Carr handled the vote tallying.
