COLUMBIA — South Carolina women’s basketball assistant coaches and staff members wore shirts with coach Dawn Staley’s face on them during the game against Texas Jan. 15 and for a limited time, they were available to purchase.
Michael Glasker created the shirts custom for Staley and though she didn’t wear one, the jacket she was wearing was also made by Glasker. His brand is called «Always BIY» with B-I-Y standing for “Believe in Yourself.”

After the shirts caught the attention of fans, Glasker restocked them online on his company’s site. But Glasker explained to The Greenville News that it ended on Jan. 18 «in order for everything to be able to made in a reasonable time.»
The shirts were sold for $100.
Glasker said via social media on Jan. 15 that the shirts happened because «Right now, more than ever, women are elevating their respective craft … so I did a series (called) ‘My favorite __ Is a woman.'»
The custom Staley shirt has a photo of her from her time playing in college at Virginia. The shirts said «Love, Believe in Yourself» on the back and «My favorite coach is a woman» on the front.

Glasker is from Virginia and his family is from Philadelphia. Staley is from Philadelphia and went to college at Virginia, which he «thought was a unique parallel.» Staley was one that Glasker always rooted for and he eventually got connected with her through a mutual friend.
«She loved the idea and gave me her blessing so to show how grateful I am for her, I wanted to make sure her and whoever she wanted to have the tees, had the tees,» Glasker explained.
How to buy Dawn Staley shirt
People could purchase the shirt with Dawn Staley’s face on it on Always BIY’s website, alwaysbiy.com but they are no longer being sold, allowing Glasker to make the orders in a reasonable time.
