Florian Plettenberg has reported on X that Stefan Ortega has reached a verbal agreement with Nottingham Forest. Furthermore, Plettenberg reports that Nottingham Forest are hoping to find an agreement to sign Ortega from Manchester City imminently.

It has been sad to see Stefan Ortega fall completely off the map at Manchester City. His contribution to the club has been immense, but it must also be said that Ortega, the German goalkeeper, chose to remain at City knowing the changes that were occurring in goal at the club. Even having said that, Ortega was crucial to Manchester City’s success during his time at the club. The German goalkeeper needs a move to re-establish himself as a top goalkeeper.
A move to a club like Nottingham Forest may provide Stefan Ortega with the platform to do so. Sean Dyche’s side are in a scrap to fight for Premier League survival. Signing a keeper like Stefan Ortega may aid their cause on this front. For Ortega, he could quickly become Forest’s number-one goalkeeper given his talent and pedigree. Hopefully, a move comes together for Stefan Ortega’s sake.
