Seahawks 'fully expect' Emmanwori to play in SB

The Seattle Seahawks «fully expect» Nick Emmanwori to play in Super Bowl LX after he left practice yesterday with an ankle injury, coach Mike Macdonald said Thursday.

Macdonald called Emmanwori’s injury, which occurred Wednesday in practice, a low ankle sprain. Macdonald said he wasn’t sure how much Emmanwori would participate in Thursday’s practice.

«He’s doing great, moving around. We just got to make sure we handle it the right way. Probably going to be overly careful and overcautious to make sure we’re rolling going into the weekend,» Macdonald said.

According to Wednesday’s pool report from ESPN’s Kalyn Kahler, several players and coaches went over to comfort the finalist for AP Defensive Rookie of the Year before he walked off the field on his own power.

Emmanwori, a second-round pick, has emerged as a key in Macdonald’s top-ranked scoring defense. He was listed as a limited participant Wednesday.
