EVANSTON — The USC Women of Troy seemed to have found their footing late in the season, notching their third straight win with a lopsided 83-65 victory led by Kennedy Smith’s 17-point, 11-rebound double-double.
Kara Dunn and Jazzy Davidson are the dynamic duo when it comes to igniting the offense for USC.

Dunn displayed an excellent shooting percentage, going 4-7 from the floor and scoring 13 points and four rebounds, while Davidson followed suit with 11 points on the same shooting percentage as Dunn.
As a team, the Women of Troy shot 61% from the floor and were consistent from beyond the arc, laying down 7-13 three pointers.
The offensive production would slow for the Women of Troy headed out for the second half, but that is when Smith would proclaim her presence on the glass.
In the second half alone, she snagged eight rebounds and added eight extra points to her credit on 3-6 shooting.
Despite the Women of Troy scoring just 30 points in the second half alone, Davidson would light the way offensively with 10 second-half points.

The Trojans also took advantage of Northwestern’s 19 costly turnovers in this contest, turning them into 16 points, but each program had 10 points off second chances.
On the Northwestern side, Grace Sullivan led the Wildcats with 24 points on 10-17 shooting and five rebounds.
With this win, the Women of Troy return to a .500 record in Big Ten play (6-6) and improve to 14-9 overall.
«Proud of how our team came out. Northwestern is a very skilled team,» USC head coach Lindsay Gottlieb told the media in the postgame presser. «We executed the gameplan well… overall, to get a good win on the road is always a big thing and we’ll keep working.”

As it stands at the moment, bracketologists around college basketball have both men’s and women’s USC programs in March Madness, so it’s yet another thing to watch out for as the season truly begins to wind down and hit the homestretch.
