Former Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho has been struggling at Chelsea this season.
United career
The Argentine joined Manchester United in 2020 from Atletico Madrid’s academy.
He won the FA Youth Cup with Manchester United, scoring two goals in the final against Nottingham Forest. Garnacho made his senior debut in 2022 and scored in the FA Cup final victory over Manchester City in 2024.

The winger played 144 times for Manchester United, scoring 26 goals for the Red Devils in total.
Acrimonious ending
Garnacho’s time at Manchester United was marred by petty social media comments about both his managers at the club, Erik ten Hag and Ruben Amorim.
He also caused uproar in the Manchester United fanbase when a photo of him wearing an Aston Villa shirt was posted on social media. Eventually, Garnacho was sold to Chelsea in the summer for £40 million at the end of August.
Poor form
The Argentina international has not had it all his own way, playing 29 times and scoring six goals.
Nonetheless, he has only scored one Premier League goal in 16 matches this season and has regularly found himself on the bench.

Football365 have even suggested that Garnacho is Chelsea’s worst-ranked player in regards to performance this season.
The 21-year-old put in another disastrous performance versus Hull City in the FA Cup last night.
Chelsea safely ran out 4-0 winners but Garnacho had little to do with it.
F365 comment that, “we warned Garnacho in January that he faces a repeat of his Manchester United axe under Liam Rosenior if he does not buck his ideas up and this remains on track to happen.”
The site reviews that, “he was the weakest of Chelsea’s attackers against Hull City in his latest uninspiring display.”
This weakness and lack of conviction was best seen when he feigned contact to try and win a penalty rather than challenge for the ball against the Championship side.
