Rolando Romero gives his take on the recent news of Floyd Mayweather coming out of retirement to rematch Manny Pacquiao this September in Las Vegas. Hear why Rolly says he’s got Floyd winning the sequel pretty clearly.
“I think that’s a fight that’s going to draw a lot of attention,” Romero said. “Floyd’s got his number. It’s not going to be anything different…I think it’s going to be a similar kind of fight but I think Floyd’s going to beat — is going to outbox him. And honestly, if Floyd starts digging to Pacquiao’s body early, Floyd’s going to hurt him.
“This fight isn’t really about Pacquiao, it’s about what Floyd wants to do to him. If Floyd wants to box him, he’s going to box him. If Floyd wants to press him, we’re going to see Floyd press him…Pacquiao wants to win and Floyd, is he going to outbox him again or is he going to press to stop him?
“At that level you can’t just go in and knock somebody out. It all comes down to little details…When you’re fighting a guy that’s not on your level — but we’re talking two all-time legends. So you can’t just go in there and be like ‘I’m going to knock this dude out.’
“It’s going to be a lot of them figuring each other out again. I think Floyd already figured him out but I think it’s going to be a little but more thinking this time around.”
