CountryBox247, 7:00 pm ET, CountryBox: Where Music Meets Boxing. Still in Nashville, but NOT FROM THE TEXAS TROUBADOUR THEATRE! Every serious boxing fan knows two things about CountryBox: Where Music Meets Boxing. First, it’s Where Music Meets Boxing. Second, it happens at THE TEXAS TROUBADOUR THEATRE. But, not anymore, as they’ve changed venues and all currently announced shows are happening at Plaza Mariachi on the complete other side of town! This is COUNTRYBox (Where Music Meets Boxing)! Why isn’t it happening at the Troubadour? Why is it scheduled between a Selena tribute band and Mexican Bingo?? As a Day 1 CountryBox: Where Music Meets Boxing devotee, what the hell are we doing? What happened to this Country (Box: Where Music Meets Boxing)??? First boxing leaves HBO and Showtime, then Top Rank leaves ESPN, now Where Music Meets Boxing leaves The Texas Troubadour Theatre? What the hell is happening to this sport??!? It does look like a pretty nice venue, though. And James Carothers is The Music.
PunchingGrace.com, 6:30 pm ET, Steven Butler vs Ramadan Hiseni. From Montreal, Canada. BoxRec says this is happening on DAZN, but it’s not. Eye of the Tiger Promotions say PunchingGrace.com, and it’s already set up for viewing there. Butler is a reliable local headliner that makes these shows financially viable, and Hiseni is on a Canadian roll (NOTE: Not a Nova Scotian lobster roll) after beating previously undefeated Alexandre Gaumonte back in December. Rising Cuban cruiserweight Lenar Perez is worth your attention in the chief support, where he’ll take on Isaac Chilemba. Yes, that same Isaac Chilemba you remember from 10 years ago. The former IBO champion (NOTE: not on the line here as he stopped defending it over 15 years ago) Isaac Chilemba.
DAZN, 1:00 pm ET, Misfits Duel 2. From Derby, England. What’s the difference between a Misfits Duel show and the usual influencer schmuck tornado? Duel shows involve at least one actual recognizable boxer, I think, or at least more trained combat sport non-boxer athletes. This time, the main event is Gabe Rosado taking on a 35 year old local named Ty Mitchell who went 5-2 as a pro boxer. This Ty Mitchell is a Misfits veteran. The more prominent Ty Mitchell who popped up first on Google is a writer and retired gay porn star. Thanks for the targeted ads I’ll be getting for the next month, Misfits! Also on this card are the daughter of Treach from Naughty by Nature fighting an Olympic taekwondo champion, and some bare knuckle and MMA fighters doing the boxing for a change of pace. Other than talk shows, this is all you get from DAZN this week. So, if you bought an Ultimate subscription for the year, here’s your $8.66 American worth of boxing for this week.
Paramount+, 5:30 pm ET, Jai Opetaia vs Brandon Glanton. From Dana White’s hybrid VFW Hall/Wedding Tent in Las Vegas, Nevada. Opetaia is the IBF cruiserweight champion, and intends to remain so, according to him. But, Dana White’s Zuffa promotion wants to do their own dumb titles, and so far neither Zuffa nor the IBF have said this fight is for the IBF belt Opetaia holds. Between this, PPV prices for Wilder vs Chisora and Usyk vs Kickboxer, and Top Rank being reduced to a sub-YouTube streaming presence, the state of boxing in 2026 is really great. Anyway, Opetaia is one of the scariest forces in the sport today, while Glanton is a capable pro that’s already been found wanting against David Light, Chris Billam-Smith, and Soslan Asbarov. ProBox veterans Shinard Bunch and Jesus Saracho appear in support. BLH will have live updates
