Ronaldo nets 950th career goal in Al Nassr win

Cristiano Ronaldo netted his 950th career goal as Al Nassr secured a 2-0 win against Al Hazm in the Saudi Pro League.

The win maintained Al Nassr’s perfect start to the season.

João Félix began the scoring for Al Nassr in the 25th minute with a header, continuing his impressive scoring streak, before Ronaldo clinched the victory with a close-range effort two minutes from time.

This marked Ronaldo’s sixth goal of the league season, as he has scored in each of his last four matches for his team.

Despite not having won the league in Saudi Arabia since his transfer in 2023, his team is currently ahead of Al Taawoun by three points in the title race.

The Portugal international aspires to reach 1,000 career goals. Earlier this month, he stated that he will retire only when he feels «fulfilled.»

«People, especially my family, say: ‘It’s time for you to stop. You’ve accomplished everything. Why do you want to score a thousand goals?» Ronaldo told Canal 11. «But I don’t see it that way. I believe I’m still delivering quality performances, aiding my club and national team, so why not continue?

«I’m confident that when I retire, I will be fulfilled, because I gave it my all. I understand I don’t have many years left, but I aim to enjoy the few I have to the fullest.»
