He has taken issue with the coachās post match comments after the game on Saturday. Chelsea conceded a last minute corner, and Rosenior admitted in his press conference that it was down to a āmissed assignmentā in the marking, without naming the player in question.
Mikel didnāt like this.
Mikel tells Rosenior to call out the player who made a mistake ā or say nothing
Chelseaās marking for the key set piece against Burnley.
āWhat he said in his post-match interview, saying āoh thereās a player that we assign to mark a player or to defendā.ā
āNo⦠a manager shouldnāt come out and say that. If you want to say that, go full on and say the whole thing. Call out whoever you want to call out. Donāt go half off. Say it because you started it. Finish it.

āItās a bit like Enzo Maresca when he said, āOh yeah, this has been my worst 24 hoursā, and the press says, ācan you elaborate?ā āNo, I donāt want to elaborateā. Youāre starting it.ā
Weāre not sure we agree those situations are comparable. But weāre also not sure it was smart for Rosenior to make those comments. On the other hand, given how obvious it was that there was a defensive mix up, the manager is hardly giving much away by saying there was an individual error.
In other newsā¦
Sevilla have just wrapped up a deal for a player who was being strongly linked to Chelseaās sister club Strasbourg.
