Fourteen up and fourteen down for both Texas high school football squads Aledo and Frisco Lone Star.

Friday, though, one of those teams can say they’re 15-0 while the other will see its season come to an end. The Bearcats take on the Rangers in a matchup of 14-0 squads in the University Interscholastic League 5A Division I semifinals, which takes place at Mansfield.

Aledo has looked very impressive in its postseason run thus far, beginning with an 80-point outburst in the bi-district round. The Bearcats have also scored 55 points in the regional semifinal round before scoring 43 in a 43-17 win against Denton Ryan in last week’s regional championship game.

Lone Star has also scored at least 42 points in its four-week run of playoff victories. Last week, the Rangers had their biggest win yet with a 58-38 win against defending state runner-up Highland Park.

The Aledo-Lone Star winner advances to next week’s 5A DI state title game at Arlington’s AT&T Stadium against the winner of the other semifinal between Port Arthur Memorial and Smithson Valley, also taking place Friday night, with the game in Katy.

– TOUCHDOWN ALEDO. Kaydon Finley continues having a monster night as he scores his third touchdown, taking a 42-yard reception to the house. He has seven catches for 232 yards now. (Aledo, 52-35 | 8:09, 4th)

HALFTIME

– Huge first half for two of the top receivers in the DFW Metroplex. Lone Star’s Davian Groce, a Florida signee, had 165 total yards, with 5 catches and 3 TDs. Aledo’s Kaydon Finley, a Notre Dame signee, caught 4 passes for 128 yards and a TD.

SECOND QUARTER

– Lone Star drives deep in Aledo territory late in the first half before the drive stalls. The Rangers try a chip-shot field goal, but it’s no good. Bearcats take a seven-point lead into the locker room at the break.

– TOUCHDOWN ALEDO. Bearcats regain the lead as they get a long TD strike of their own, a 50-yarder to Kaydon Finley. (Aledo, 28-21 | 2:40, 2nd)

– TOUCHDOWN LONE STAR. Davian Groce is having a night, and it’s not even halftime. He catches his third TD pass already, from 5 yards out and we are now tied up. (21-21 | 4:46, 2nd)
