Aleksandr Chizov KOs Connor Hughes, then blasts him with 'shotgun' in PFL final

Aleksandr Chizov clinched the PFL Europe championship on Saturday, doing so in an extremely aggressive manner.

In a lightweight contest planned for five rounds at the 2025 PFL Europe 4 event, Chizov (13-3) required just over two rounds to defeat Connor Hughes (12-3) with a devastating right hook. The fight was halted at 0:50 of Round 3 at LDLC Arena in Lyon, France.

Chizov landed the punch perfectly. Hughes fell unconscious to the mat, and Chizov followed up with an additional punch that made partial contact. It was irrelevant since Hughes was finished anyway, and the match concluded.

After the fight was stopped, Chizov expressed the severity of his victory by mimicking firing an invisible shotgun repeatedly at his fallen opponent, «reloading» in between each shot.

With this victory, Chizov from Latvia, 28, secured the 2025 PFL Europe lightweight tournament title after overcoming Mark Ewen and Claudio Pacella to reach the final on Saturday.

Hughes from England fell short in the final after achieving tournament victories against Sebastien Di Franco and Gino van Steenis.
