Mikaela Mayer defeated Mary Spencer in Canada, securing her position as a unified light-middleweight and a champion across three divisions.
The 35-year-old American showcased her skills at the Montreal Casino, outclassing the local hero over a 10-round bout.
The judges scored the fight 100-90, 98-92, and 98-92 as Mayer took home the WBA title along with the vacant WBC and WBO belts, following the retirement of pioneer Cecilia Braekhus.
«I’ve held the WBO before, but I’ve never had the WBA or WBC wrapped around my waist, so this is particularly significant,» Mayer remarked.
Mayer, also the current WBO champion in welterweight, captured her initial world title in super-featherweight. Her professional record now includes 22 victories and two losses.

The Californian quickly fell into her groove with a precise jab, mixing her strikes to both head and body.
Although she was two inches shorter than the 5ft 11in Spencer, she maintained control of the distance and pace throughout.
Spencer, 40, had momentary success in the fourth round when she landed two right hands, but Mayer regained dominance, finishing the eighth round with four solid hooks, making her wide victory seem inevitable.
Spencer’s face was bloodied and marked beneath both eyes at the end of the match, suffering her third loss in 13 fights.
«She’s a tough, strong competitor. Credit to her, she didn’t have to accept this challenge,» Mayer commented. «She took a significant risk fighting someone like me. I’m always pushing forward, delivering intense bouts.»
Two opportunities for undisputed? What’s next for Mayer?

Mayer reiterated her enduring ambition to be an undisputed champion after winning against Briton Sandy Ryan for the second time this year.
She aimed to compete against Lauren Price of Wales, the WBC welterweight titleholder, for an undisputed clash.
Unfortunately, that match fell through mainly due to promotional and broadcasting conflicts.
If the bout with Price – who is anticipated to return to the UK in December – doesn’t happen next for Mayer, she might pursue the undisputed title at light-middleweight against IBF champion Oshae Jones.
«The key factor is that I have several options,» Mayer expressed.
«I’d love to do both – drop back down to 147lb for the undisputed chance, then return to 154lb to defend my title.»
A possible super-fight could also be ahead against Claressa Shields, who calls herself the ‘Greatest Woman of All Time’ and is a three-weight undisputed world champion, currently holding titles in the heavyweight division.
Shields, a free agent in the U.S., is garnering attention from multiple promoters, including Most Valuable Promotions, co-founded by Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian.
Should Shields decide to move down to super-middleweight, Mayer – although it may not be her usual weight class – has expressed her willingness to meet her there.
